By the end of 2019 the VEFF Management Unit approved the first Expression of Interest (EoI). The proposal submitted by the Vetsaphong Technical and Vocational School (registered with MoES) and a number of furniture making companies in Vientiane Capital envisages the vocational training in furniture making. As foreseen by the VEFF Operation Manual three evaluators rated the EoI and gave the go ahead for the project.

In a next step VEFF will select and contract DCT Advisors supporting school and business partners in preparing the VEFF Grant Application to be submitted latest by end of March 2020.

In the meantime VEFF received two more EoIs in the fields of heavy machinery and printing for evaluation.

ECCIL EuroCham Laos has organised a well-attended networking reception on the evening of October 30th, where the Vocational Education Financing Facility (VEFF) was presented to members of the European business community by VEFF- Team Leader James McNicholas.
